Northwestern Mutual's Internship program is in demand, not to mention competitive. Nearly 35,000 applicants apply each year and 1,600 - 1,800 interns are chosen. Our interns can earn up to $2,000 per stipend period (summer, fall, spring) in addition to commissions. Applicants typically have or are in the process of earning four-year college degrees. Their majors can vary; however, most are seeking degrees in finance, accounting, business, economics or marketing. The duration of the internship can be a single semester or longer and can take place full-time during the summer or part-time during the school year.

Recruitment for interns has been ongoing since the 1930's and in 1967 it became a formal, highly sought-after program and remains among the top 10 internship programs today.
